Hiking Trip - Anfeh Hike & Tour - Koura District

  • Our hike this time will take place in Anfeh!

    Anfeh attracts numerous tourists with its beautiful, picturesque landscape featuring small white houses, windmills, and salt marshes along its rocky beaches along the Mediterranean coast. The village is adorned with historical monuments, old churches, and an archaeological site on its peninsula, making it one of the top tourist destinations on the Lebanese northern coast.

    We will begin by exploring the narrow paths of Anfeh, an ancient village rich in ruins and caves. During our visit, you will have the opportunity to explore a very old Byzantine church and other historical monuments. An important highlight of our program will be the Citadel of Anfeh.

    The citadel, considered a Crusader remnant, holds significance for various civilizations. Within and around the citadel, you'll find historical artifacts such as old graves, mosaic pieces, olive presses, and saltpans. Notably, the citadel features a distinctive rock-cut trench known as Al-Khandaq.

    Following our visit to the citadel, we will follow an easy path leading to Saidet el Natour, an ancient historical monastery, providing a perfect setting for great photographs and scenic views.

    During our journey, we'll pause at one of Anfeh's natural wonders—an elaborately furnished cave, where we'll enjoy a homemade lunch.
    Note: This hike will be of moderate difficulty (9 km), mostly through natural surroundings and the narrow streets of Anfeh.

    PRICE: 50$ per person including transport, guides, insurance and lunch.

    WHAT TO GET: Light snacks that will boost up your energy such as dried fruits, water, cap, sunglasses and sunscreen. Wear comfortable shoes such as hiking shoes and always keep a windproof jacket in your backpack.

    SPECIAL RATES:
    - Children with the age of 10 and younger will have a discount of 5$.
    - Children/ Teenagers between the age of 11 and 18 will have a discount of 4$.
    - University students will have a discount of 3$ provided that they present their university card.
    - Groups with 5 to 9 persons, with different criteria than the above, will get a 2$ discount.
    - Groups with 10 or more persons, with different criteria than the above, will get a 3$ discount.

    PAYMENT TERMS:
    - Cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged half-price
    - Reservations with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged an extra 2$.
    (e.g. Cancelling or booking for a Sunday’s event on Saturday will be subject to the above terms)

    ESSENTIAL ECOTOURISTIC RULES & REGULATIONS
    - Smoking is strictly prohibited during the event
    - Always follow the guide on the designated trail
    - Do not go off road without notifying the guide
    - Do not get close to a cliff especially when the guide in charge tells you not to do so
    - Although accidents are covered by the insurance but they remain under the responsibility of the member
    - Sometimes, due to reasons beyond our control, slight modifications to the program may occur. Ecotourism rules must be followed, otherwise personal accidents will not be accounted for by the insurance.
